ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 is associated not only with symptoms of the acute phase, but in some patients some symptoms persist even after overcoming it, we are talking about the so-called post-COVID syndrome. The aim of our work was to identify factors influencing the level of anxiety in patients with this syn-drome. In total, data were obtained from 404 patients, anxiety levels were assessed using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). The file con-tained 143 men and 261 women, in the age range of 19-90 years. The average BAI value was 13.2 Most often, patients experienced a mild course of covid-19 infection. According to our results, the severity of the COVID-19 infection itself and the presence of comorbid somatic disease have not effect on the BAI value, on the contrary, hospitalization turned out to be a significant factor. Hospitalized patients had a statistically significantly lower level of anxiety than those who experienced this disease at home. Patients with a pathological level of anxiety were significantly younger and, when comparing gender, there were significantly more anxiety in women. The con-nection between the presence of pulmonary post-inflammatory changes on the chest X-ray and the degree of anxiety was not proven, but a statistically significant trend was found.Copyright © 2023, Czech Medical Association J.E. ABSTRACT

The main goal of the article is to present the methodology and selected preliminary results of an extensive survey of the development of information and communication technologies in agricultural enterprises, which was conducted in the first quarter of 2021 throughout the Czech Republic. The research was primarily focused on capturing current trends in the use of ICT with emphasis on selected key areas (broadband, social networks, communication tools, regional internet portals, used categories of hardware, software used, mobile communications, Internet of Things, storage and data security, etc.). This survey builds on previous large-scale surveys, which have been carried out by the department in several stages since 1999, with the last stage being carried out in 2017. Some of the stages were carried out directly in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture (as was the last stage in 2017). (Compared to recent years, the survey includes new domains, such as the use of IoT in plant and animal production, data storage and security, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on basic company operations, etc.). The survey was prepared, conducted, and administered by the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Economics and Management, CZU Prague.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 disease caused by a new type of coronavirus has been an integral part of everyday reality for almost two years. Its presence and connection with psychiatric diseases is the subject of intensive and extensive research. A very common problem described in the literature is sleep disorders connected to the coronavirus infection. Sleep is an essential process needed to in-tegrate all the functions of the CNS and is essential for physical and mental health. Studies demonstrate a number of negative effects of sleep deprivation and sleep disorders. Those known include hypopro-sexia, hypoenergy, increased irritability, and increased anxiety. Among the lesser known but particularly important for COV-ID-19 disease are changes in the immune response, including the response to active immunization in the form of vaccination. Previous meetings with coronavirus family show that they significantly interfere with sleep management and cause sleep disorders in a high percentage of patients who have recovered from the infection. Recent studies of the new coronavirus SaRS-CoV2 provide insight into a dual mechanism of sleep disorders. In the first case, the pandemic itself, as a significant historical event, increases the level of stress and anxiety in the population. Individuals have to adapt to a lot of new measures, to learn new forms of work and social interaction. This can lead to the development of insomnia and other sleep disorders in disposed individuals. In the second case, SaRS-CoV2 alone, like other coronaviruses (MERS, SARS), appears to interfere with the sleep control axis and in a high percentage of cases (studies re-port a prevalence of up to 39% of patients) leads to insomnia after overcoming the acute stage of the disease. So far, very lim-ited data are available on the treatment of both forms of sleep disorders caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the first clues and possibilities for how to adapt the therapy of sleep disorders in the covid period appear.

ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the use of social networks in agricultural enterprises and focuses mainly on their role and share in increasing the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in the market. Primary data were obtained from an extensive survey of the development of information and communication technologies in agricultural enterprises, which was conducted in the first quarter of 2021 throughout the Czech Republic (“Survey 2021”). The research was primarily focused on capturing current trends in the use of ICT with emphasis on selected key areas (broadband, social networks, communication tools, regional Internet portals, used hardware categories, used software, mobile communications, Internet of Things, data storage and security, social networks, etc.). This survey builds on previous extensive surveys conducted by the Department of Information Technologies, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CULS in Prague in several phases since 1999, with the last stage being conducted in 2017. Some surveys were conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Czech Republic. Compared to recent years, the survey includes new domains, such as the use of the Internet of Things in plant and animal production, data storage and security, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the company’s core operations, etc. The survey was prepared, conducted and administered by the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Life Sciences Prague. © 2021.
